- Foley sound: sounds you create and use to recreate on-screen effects.
- Ambient sound: background sounds in a scene, such as wind.
- Diegetic sound: sound that characters can hear inside the scene.
- Non-diegetic sound: sound characters cannot hear, such as music.
- Script: everything that happens and is said in each scene throughout a film.
- 3-point lighting: key light, fill light, and back light used together.
- Three-dimensional look: visual depth created through lighting and shot setup.
- Markers: floor positions used as reminders during takes.
- Transitions: where editing cuts from one scene to another, such as a cross cut.
- Scene: a section where an event happens within a film.
- Planning: project preparation before production starts.
- Evaluation: final overview of what happened in the project and the feedback received.
- Shot reverse shot: a fundamental technique that creates the illusion of a continuous conversation between two characters.
